Phyllis Scott Buford Young Visionary Award
Recognizing 'leadership in action' among our young alumni

Dr. Phyllis Scott Buford, The Consortium’s third leader, modernized the annual Orientation Program, expanding The Consortium’s collaboration with corporate partners and exposing opportunities to more diverse young leaders through the conference. This award recognizes a young alumnus who is a “leader in action,” demonstrating vision, collaboration and creativity in driving diversity and inclusion in their professional life.
To qualify for this award, recipients must:
- Be a Consortium alumnus 40 years of age or younger.
- Demonstrate initiative, vision and innovation in driving diversity in a professional environment.
- Demonstrate collaboration with other stakeholders and partners in advancing The Consortium’s mission.
- Give back to The Consortium through time, effort and/or capital.
